Palm trees, white sand, and clear blue skies are what South Florida/Caribbean native Jordana found herself surrounded by. Although most would argue that living there could be considered paradise, the cutoff jean shorts, tank tops, and flip-flops did not inspire Jordana to find her true style. Once she moved to Boston and experienced the spring and fall seasons, moto boots, boxy silhouettes, and edgy with a touch of elegance are where she thrived.
Transitioning from a slower life to the hustle of a large city means that comfort is still essential in Jordana’s style expression, almost reminiscent of the flowy dresses worn to brave the heat, but instead conveyed through neutral colors and a timeless capsule wardrobe. For her, confidence is derived in the comfort of her garments, but not only is the aesthetic of her clothes a contributing factor to this but also the sustainability of the pieces she wears.
Vintage and secondhand luxury are where Jordana finds her most unique and cherished pieces. Whether these are acquired through online retail sites or her mother’s closet, they inspire her style and take her perception of an outfit from decent to outstanding. Her love of vintage can be attributed to her dedication to sustainability, but also to her style icons such as Bella Hadid. Hadid incorporates pieces from the 90s and early 2000s, which are the eras from which Jordana also draws inspiration. Sourcing the perfect vintage piece is the best part of loving fashion to her.
As someone who is still in the process of developing her closet and style, Jordana hopes to incorporate kitten heels into her future looks, which when combined with her assortment of edgy pieces, will create a harmonious blend of sophistication and youthfulness. With comfort at the forefront of her mind, a sensible heel is an example of how she wears her outfits, not letting them wear her.
There is something essentially cool girl about Jordana’s style and the way she mixes pieces to create trendy but classic looks with minimal effort. If anything, this can be attributed to the effortlessness of the heat in which she grew up where tousled hair and bronzed skin are the finishing touches to any outfit, but as a Bostonian, she trades these in for the pieces closest to her heart.
